ABOUT DR. RAAMYA

 

Dr. Ashokbabu Raamya completed his dental degree at Ragas Dental College and Hospital in Chennai, India, in 1994. After practicing general dentistry for five years, he migrated to Canada, where he has been a general dentist in Ontario for over 20 years, having successfully completed the National Dental Examining Board of Canada program in 2002. Dr. Raamya has pursued his interest in temporomandibular disorders (TMDs) and orofacial pain at the Eastman Institute for Oral Health at the University of Rochester, New York, where he completed a two-year post-graduate TMD/Orofacial Pain residency. Additionally, he earned a master's degree in health professions education from the University of Rochester.

Dr. Raamya has published an article in the Ontario Dentist Journal in April 2018 based on a case report. Currently, he is working on publishing another research article about the reliability of panoramic radiographs in assessing TMDs. He is also a member of the Ontario Dental Association and the Indian Dental Association. His future interest is to join a dental faculty where he can educate dental students about temporomandibular disorders and orofacial pain.

Along with his interest in managing TMD/orofacial pain patients, Dr. Raamya has shown interest over the past 10 years in Invisalign® treatments for correcting malocclusion, as well as dental implants.

Dr. Raamya has always been very much committed to continued education.

On a personal note, Dr. Raamya likes to spend his free time with his family and playing badminton.
